A former railroad bed turned bike
path, the Cape Cod Rail Trail stretches 22 miles through Dennis,
Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham and Wellfleet. Bikers and walkers
are welcomed along with limited horseback riding on an unpaved section.
Orleans parking is available at the
Charles Moore Arena on O’Connor Lane, just east of Exit 12 off Rte. 6,
and the Rte. 28 shopping area in South Orleans, just north of Rte. 39.
Restroom and water stops are located at Nickerson State Park in Brewster
and the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Eastham. |
