Beaches
Herring Cove Beach
End of Rte. 6, at the Rte. 6A intersection

The road stops at Herring Cove Beach, which offers showers, restrooms and lifeguards in the summer. In-season parking costs $15 daily or $45 for a season pass to all Cape Cod National Seashore beaches.

Long Point Beach

Long Point is the very tip of Provincetown curling into the harbor. The isolated spot holds two dormant lighthouses and two Civil War bunkers. It is a 2-mile walk over sand or a better bet may be to call Flyer’s (508-487-0898) for a boat taxi.

Race Point Beach
Race Point Road, off Rte. 6

This Provincetown beach faces the outer shore and has restrooms, showers and lifeguards in the summer, plus the Old Harbor Museum. Parking is $15 daily or $45 for a Cape Cod National Sea Shore season pass.

The 5.25-mile trail can be accessed from the visitor center parking lot and connects to an extra 2 miles of trails along Herring Cove and Race Point beaches and Bennett Pond. The main trail weaves through a diverse landscape of the Province Lands’ sand dunes and Beech Forest.
