Sandwich Boardwalk |
|
This may be the best spot to take in
Sandwich’s late-afternoon sun, with green- and-wheat-colored grass, a
silver blue creek and the ocean. The community poured its all into
erecting this 1,000-foot plus walkway after Hurricane Bob blew down Mill
Creek’s original 1874 boardwalk in 1991, with residents paying to have
personalized messages on the planks, to their families, spouses and even
pets.
Access is off Jarves and Harbor
streets or from the Town Neck Beach parking lot off Wood Avenue
Extension and Bay Beach Lane. The Town Neck Beach parking lot has a fee
until late afternoon in the summer. |
