renters with proper permits in the summer, though anyone can walk or

| Ballston Beach on Pamet Road is noteworthy because the Jason,
one of the many ships that wrecked off Truro’s shores, remains in the ocean
in full view, more than a century after it succumbed to a blizzard in
1893. Just one of the 25 people aboard survived. |

Cape Cod National Seashore Trails |
|
The Cape Cod National Seashore’s land in Truro
includes three short walking trails: Pamet Cranberry Bog Trail, Pilgrim
Spring Trail and Small’s Swamp Trail.
Pamet Cranberry Bog Trail. A one-mile trail
winding through the site of a cranberry bog that was abandoned in 1961.
Starts at the Truro NEED Center at the end of North Pamet Road.
Pilgrim Spring Trail.
A three-quarters mile
trail in the area where the Pilgrims drank their first sips of fresh
water in New England.
Small’s Swamp Trail. A three-quarters mile
path on former agricultural land.
